The Cat's Meow

Nigel Schubert Thomas'

Homepage

Nigel is a gray/white American shorthair mix, and a very playful little guy. He is four and 1/2 years old.

Favorite Hobbies: sleeping all day while Barbara and Todd are away, laying in the sun behind the curtains, laying on top of any piece of clothing laid out on the bed, sitting on top of all work his mom and dad are trying to do, jumping onto laps at the computer, keeping the apartment free of insects (we have never seen a roach since the first day in Egypt!)

We love him dearly. =-) As Nigel has grown older, he has matured quite a bit.  His first two years he was very shy with strangers, and terrified of ceiling fans (we suspected a cruel child in his first few months of life). However, After traveling around the country the summer of 1999, Nigel developed an immunity to ceiling fans. He must have decided that nothing could be worse than being taken to several strange places, some with ceiling fans. Other cats in the strange places had no problems with those ceiling fans, so he has decided they are okay. Plus, they keep the house cool!

Later, when we moved to Egypt, he also decided that nothing could be worse than plane travel.  So he has become an extremely friendly cat with our friends.  After all, if Mommy and Daddy like them, they must be okay.  Our housecleaner, Hafez, named him "mish-mish" (apricot) for his sweet personality.  Other friends have claimed they wanted him cloned.  Well, as we embark on life in Japan, we'll have to see how he adapts.

Four years old, and quite the survivor!
